Land Acknowledgment
In our journey as a craft and artistic venture collection online business, we want to take a moment to recognize the importance of the land we operate on and share some thoughts on heritage and the responsibility we carry as a first-generation immigrant-founded company.
Our business was founded in Mississauga, Ontario, a place that holds deep historical and cultural significance. We acknowledge that this land is the traditional territory of the Mississauga Nation, the Attiwonderonk Nation, and the Anishinaabeg. Their enduring presence and contributions to this land are immeasurable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to operate here.
Being a first-generation immigrant-founded business, we understand the importance of preserving and celebrating our own heritage while also acknowledging and respecting the Indigenous heritage of this land. This dual identity is something we hold dear. It’s a unique blend of traditions, stories, and experiences that shape our products and our mission.
Our venture is deeply rooted in craftsmanship and artistic expression. We draw inspiration from the diverse cultures and artistic traditions that have found a home in Canada. We believe that art has the power to bridge gaps, connect people, and tell stories that transcend borders. By celebrating this diversity, we aim to decolonize traditional wealth systems, making sure that opportunities and recognition are accessible to all, regardless of their background.
We understand that accountability is paramount. As a company, we have a responsibility to learn and unlearn, to engage with Indigenous communities, and to be part of the ongoing dialogue about reconciliation and justice. We are committed to contributing to a more equitable and inclusive future.
Our products are a testament to the fusion of cultures, the blending of old and new, and the celebration of diverse voices. We strive to create a space where artisans from different backgrounds can showcase their talents, and where customers can appreciate and support their work.
We invite you to join us on this journey. Together, we can celebrate heritage, decolonize wealth systems, and create a more inclusive and equitable artistic community. We believe that through art and craft, we can foster understanding, respect, and unity in a world that sorely needs it. Thank you for being a part of our story, and for acknowledging the importance of this land and its heritage.
