About the Artist

I'm from Timmins, a small town in northern Canada just shy of 50,000 people. Fashion is not highly regarded in my hometown. I found fashion through the thanks of pears around me such as my older brother who I am very close with. Some fashion inspirations for me are fashion designers such as Virgil Abloh and the late great Alexander McQueen.

Message From the Artist

Whoever is looking to make a statement in their wardrobe, look not further, the fur collar is the perfect “pop” and relays a great message that you aren’t afraid to express yourself, it’s clean but it’s ripped, it’s black but its cozy, it’s dress shirt but not formal, defying the odds all while keeping it moody.

Inspiration

The story behind this mash up of this dress shirt with the fur collar was a challenge for me to design something new outside of the box. You see fur collars on pieces all the time, but dress shirts is a rare occasions. I find the addition of fur relays a message of comfort and softness in such a moody dark piece. The story of having something formal but breaking the rules of formality was really a help in pushing me to take this original dress shirt and making it into what it is now.

Future of Sustainable Fashion

I envision the evolution of sustainable fashion as a blend of innovative materials, circular economy practices and technological advancements that will all collectively work towards and together for a more sustainable and responsible industry. The landfills are overflowing with waste of product, we need to step back and not look at it as waste but as a new idea, a new design, a new fabric, words are one thing but taking action is what counts.
